Social Flock are delighted to open our Back to School & Nursery applications for self-referrals! Wahoo! We are aiming to provide 1,000 Back to School and 200 Back to Nursery packs, based on demand. Applications are submitted on a first come, first served basis.
We are happy for you to apply for every child in your household who is returning to school or nursery in August 2026. Please make sure you submit one application PER child so we can get to work on your pack as soon as possible. If you include more than one child per application, there will be a delay, and we may not be able to offer you packs for both children should we reach capacity.
We expect our applications to reach their capacity within 10 days, if not sooner.
This summer we have numerous Community Collection events and free Pop-Up shops across Perth and Kinross. If you can collect your pack from one of these events, or from our central Perth hub, please do. This will allow us to ensure our delivery services are offered to people who cannot travel to collect your packs, keeping our service accessible for everyone in our community.
We have loaded an FAQ sheet onto our facebook page – please give this a read so you know what our plans are for running the project. You can find us on facebook @SocialFlockPerth
Applications are open to anyone who lives in Perth and Kinross and wears clothes – which means this project is for you! We have a vast stock of preloved clothing, and you can ask for stock items only which allows us to redistribute more items and save you money. We want everyone who would like to be a #ClothingClimateActivist to apply!

Significant Investment enhances popular car parks in Pitlochry and Perth
Visitors and residents in Pitlochry and Perth will benefit from improved parking facilities following a significant investment in local infrastructure. Around £280k has been invested in resurfacing works, upgraded street lighting, and improved drainage systems across several key car parks in the region.
The enhancements include resurfacing of car parks in Ferry Road Car Parks and Rie-achan car parks in Pitlochry and Norie Miller and Back Wynd car parks in Perth, ensuring a smoother and safer experience for drivers.
In addition, improved street lighting has been installed to improve visibility and safety, particularly during the darker months. Back Wynd Car Park, has also undergone drainage improvements to better manage surface water and reduce the risk of flooding.
Pitlochry, a popular tourist destination, is expected to particularly benefit from these upgrades, which support the town's infrastructure and enhances the visitor experience.

Keeping our communities safer for all
PKC’s new Community Support and Enforcement team (CSE) is dedicated to keeping our communities safer for all.
This new team will create a dynamic and unified service designed to enhance community safety, improve local environments, and deliver more responsive support to residents across the region.
The new team brings together the Council's Parking and Civil Contingencies Service, Community Safety Team and Visitor Management into a single, streamlined unit under one leadership structure. The move is part of a broader strategy to deliver on the Council's vision of a Perth and Kinross, where everyone can live life well, free from poverty and inequality.
By focusing resources where they're needed most, the team will serve as the "eyes and ears" of the community, providing visible, intelligence-led patrols and rapid responses to local concerns. They will help protect our shared spaces, streets, landscapes, and local wildlife—ensuring Perth and Kinross remains welcoming and secure for everyone, whether residents or visitors.

Service Navigator is an accessible and collaborative guide to the wide range of services available in Perth and Kinross.
As your Third Sector Interface, we understand it’s essential for you to have knowledge and evidence to be able to serve your communities.
Here to help is the Service Navigator, an interactive map of services provided by local charities, social enterprises and community groups.
The Service Navigator allows you to search for services by category and region, and you can learn more about each service by clicking its point on the map.
You can also add your organisation’s services to the map – find out how.
We are delighted to launch a new way for you to request support from the CLD team, which will:
- Support community groups across Perth and Kinross to increase your skills and knowledge to help you achieve your aims
- Make our capacity building offer to communities clearer and easier to understand
- Help community groups to think about your current needs and future development opportunities
The CLD Enquiry form can be accessed via this link - https://forms.office.com/e/g5jQ7YB7HM and following your submission, we will get back to you with some guidance and support.
